Next we have a heartwarming story that went viral in all the best ways. Given the general madness in fandom and entertainment, it is good to be reminded that there are beautiful and bright points there as well. Little Winry was at the center of one such happy moment recently:

Moving on to another tale entirely, Literature Devil has a new project up on IndieGoGo. Titled Lady Midnight: Devils Dwell in Silent Springs, we can thank ShadowWing Tronix at BW Media Spotlight for delivering this news. Literature Devil’s tale focuses on the titular Lady Midnight, a witch who spent years as a quasi-supervillain looking to avenge her murdered coven. Pulled out of that life by the Blackwells, who taught her how to live as a decent member of society, Midnight is faced with a different problem when a curse begins killing the Blackwells off:

Will Midnight be able to stop the curse? Is it in fact a curse? Or is something else going on? All that is certain is that this mystery may not be solvable by a heroic white knight. It may be that only a witch with a chip on her shoulder and blood on her hands can figure out what – or who – is killing the Blackwells and threatening to send the city into a death spiral.
Literature Devil is hoping to raise $25,000 to get this graphic novel published. Under his pen name of S. A. Rivera, Literature Devil has two other graphic novels out. They may be too dark for the youngsters to read, but perhaps they are just what you are looking for. Maybe Lady Midnight is as well, so be sure to back the book before time runs out!
On the subject of time, The King’s Academy is not just making a Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic fan film. They have also made a video game – Iron Dusk: Path of Honor:
Released September 9th on Steam, the game looks like a lot of fun. A combination of 2D and 3D graphics, the game has some old-school designs combined with a new story. The description runs thus: “Once a celebrated hero, you now fight to reclaim your name in a land overrun by cultist tyrants, ruthless pirates, and shadowy forces. Cast into the depths, forced into arenas, lost at sea, and hunted by ancient evils, your path to redemption winds through arena combat, treacherous towns, and storm-wracked shores.” Sure looks like fun.
