Movie Review: BEETLEJUICE, BEETLEJUICE
In a year swollen with late sequels, this one actually works well.
Earlier this month I saw Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, the sequel to the 1988 Tim Burton film starring Michael Keaton. While I’m generally opposed to the recent glut of thirty-year sequels and “re-imaginings,” I’d heard good things about this film, so I dropped in one night before my graveyard shift at work.
I’m pleased to say that it was done well, despite a seemingly scattered focus and an overloaded cast. It all ties together well in the end, and the performances are entertaining, even if there’s a lot (or too much) going on at times.
Watch the video for my full review. This is the last weekend before Halloween, so if you’re keen to have some classic seasonal fun, you can easily get in the mood for a couple of hours with Michael Keaton’s latest.
