The Charity Anthology for Lori Janeski is LIVE!
Support one of Upstream’s favorite writers in her recovery!
Lori Bowman, writing under her maiden name Lori Janeski, is the author of The Carter Files series. This series includes Phoenix (reviewed here and here) and Raven (reviewed here), as well as a short story in Tuscany Bay Books’ Planetary Anthology: Luna.
One may recall that Mrs. Bowman was unjustly attacked not long ago when someone tried to claim that her cover for Phoenix was plagiarized from another cover. The story was broken down by our own Michael Gallagher here, for those who are curious.
This is relevant because around September of last year, Lori was in a very bad car accident. While she is well and getting better, this accident resulted in many medical bills for the Bowmans. Treatment and rehabilitation are not cheap!
For this reason, several volunteers created a charity anthology to help support Lori in her recovery. Kal Spriggs is among those who chipped in with a tale for the book, which is titled Hairballs, Hiccups, and Hope. It is doing well on Amazon but it could use more support!
In a charity anthology, the writers who submit stories never see any of the revenue from the book. All proceeds go straight to the Bowmans to help pay the medical costs of Lori’s rehabilitation. In that spirit, the link above is not an affiliate or books2read link. If you click it, it takes you directly to the anthology on Amazon and no one at Upstream Reviews receives recompense for your purchases you make through it. We want Lori to be able to write again and would prefer all the money went directly to her.
Should you wish to help support Lori and her family, pick up Hairballs, Hiccups, and Hope today, then be sure to leave a review on Amazon! You can also check out her novels through the reviews here at Upstream, OR you can find Phoenix in Tuscany Bay Books’ sale. That sale ends September 10th, so you have plenty of time to help Lori out via this means!
Another way to pick up Phoenix is through the ongoing Based Book Sale. That ends September 9th, the day before Tuscany Bay Books’ sale closes. Either option helps, as more royalties will aide in covering the bills. Why keep money coming in from only one direction when all roads lead to Rome?
Lori is a great writer, and those are in too-short supply as matters stand. Let’s help her get back on her feet by buying Hairballs, Hiccups, and Hope today! Or, just as good, by buying The Carter Files novels. Come on, readers, let’s do this!
