The fun part about setting your own hours is that … you tend to work more. Work doesn’t turn off.
The year started with an idea that “We’ll republish all of the reviews from our old Wordpress site and pad out the content for the year.” That would carry us through the summer, right?
Giving us a little bit of a break meant that new reviews kept coming through the summer.
So, the Upstream reviewers have been running nonstop for the past year.
However, with Christmas and New Year’s coming up, we’re tapping the breaks.
Through Christmas and January, we’re not going to post any new reviews. JR Handley will have some of his Christmas-themed podcasts coming up, but aside from that, we’re on break until February.
However, I think we have enough to keep you busy through the next few months. And if you’re interested in some Christmas gifts, we have you covered. And if you need 8 books per person per night of Hannukah, even better.
Caroline has a collection of her best reads from this year.
Graham also has a selection for you.
If nonfiction and the sciences are more your thing, you’re also covered.
And, of course, we also have…
THE BIG BASED CYBER MONDAY BOOK SALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A sale where every book is free or $0.99. There are a lot of books. And it lasts until Tuesday—that’s why this is a Sunday morning post.
On top of that, we’ll have some new release notices kicking around.
So, while we may not have reviews going, we will be a little busy.
See you in 2025.
Go have a glorious adventure on your well-deserved break - and we shall await your return!
Would you like back up reviews? I have Christmas art to finish, but in the new year I should be able to rejigger 30 years of professional reviews to fit your format.
You could keep them on hand for when your regulars need a break.
