Video article: HAVE INDIE BOOKS IMPROVED?
Look at the crap that is winning awards in mainstream pub.
While the site is on Summer Break, some of us at Upstream Reviews don’t have anything better to do when the site is on hiatus.
One of those would be the editor of the website (eg: Declan Finn).
However, we also have lives outside of Upstream Reviews.
Then Declan Finn discovered that one of our reviewers, Graham Bradley, has a YouTube channel.
Someone (again, Declan Finn) has decided that Graham’s YouTube Channel has some fun content for the website.
Also, guess who just discovered that Substack can post videos? (if you said Finn, you’d be right.)
Huh, Declan needs a hobby! LMFAO!
Great video, sums up a lot of my own thoughts. Yes, there's still a stigma with readers regarding self-published books, but I do see it lessening with the success of fan-run initiatives like the SPFBO or SPSFC.
When more readers talk about self-pub books openly, we know the tide is rising.
Basically all I read now are books published 30+ years ago, or indie books. Rarely do I see new trad-pubbed books that appeal to me lately. They exist, but it's rare.
