Hey Space Cadets, here is the next installment in my series of book reviews. I decided to read one of the greats of military science fiction authors, David Weber, and review it. He created one of the largest fan bases, so he is clearly doing something right. With that out the way, let’s jump right into the nuts and bolts of the story.
Good review. I read part of the novel. I found it enjoyable and it had the usual trope. I remember reading somewhere David Weber modelled Honor on Nelson.
The timeline is sorta the early French revolutionary period but without Napoleon.
I've been toying with my own kind of Honor type story but with Iberian naval traditions cause, to be honest I'm kinda fed up with the Anglopshere navies in space operas.
In any case, I also recommend the Honor series it entertains but the series has its ups and downs. Some books are better than others but overall a real blast.
I have loved this book for 25 years. The audio is one of the best i have listened too.
Its easier to follow in audio, than in electronic. I can't speak for hard copy, since being blind, I can't read hard copy, save braille.
