Submissions

The window for submissions is ongoing. If you have a book you’d like to request a review for, please email upstreamsubmissions@gmail.com.

Just send us an E-ARC and tell us what the book is about. Use the exact same copy you use on your Amazon page.

In case you haven’t noticed, we review fiction only. Some people have not figured that part out, and we do need to mention that.

If we like it, we will review it. If we don’t like it, we will disappear into the night like The Shadow. Also, it may simply get lost in the shuffle of our backlog, so don’t take it personally if you don’t hear back.

• DO NOT beg for permission. Just send us the E-ARC. Emails without E-ARCs will be deleted.

• DO NOT tell us how brilliant your book is, or how stupid you are. (We’ve seen both.)

• DO NOT repeatedly send us the same book.

• DO NOT explain your entire plot. If you sold us on the premise, we would like to enjoy it.

Again, please be aware that we only highlight books on the site we think are worth reading, and prioritize independent work above mainstream fare. The site cannot guarantee notification to an author if a review is done, so it is incumbent upon the submitter to check in on the site or reach out to us.
